Anyone have a great massage on the CF? Could you pass on the town, name or business?

I didn't, but I like your thinking! I walked with a south african lady who made frequent trips to hairdressers to get blowouts! Such style!

The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.
Three stood out for us this year:
  • In Burgos close to the entrance of the Old City (from the road route, not the new river route) there is a massage therapist who owns a small place called 'Ultreia'. Nice deep sports massage.
  • In Leon the lady who operates the massage room in the Parador is fantastic!
  • In Villafranca del Bierzo we stayed in a hotel in Plaza Mayor and asked the owner for a suggestion and he called a guy named Marcos who drove there and came to our room with a portable bed and amazing homemade oils. I have his phone number and will PM if you want it (don't think we can post that publicly here?) and we highly recommend him. He said he'd drive anywhere between there and Santiago if we wanted any further services.
Good luck and enjoy!

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

In Logrono I limped into what I think is the Hostel Entreseunos ( We had a large room on the ground
floor with pictures of London taxis on the wall ) The receptionists pointed out that massages were
available. I settled on a "half leg" massage booked for 30 minutes later. After a shower I waited in
reception. Alberto turned up with a portable massage table. A room off reception became the
treatment room. The "half leg" was a little difficult to explain. However, Alberto gave my right
calf such a thorough work over that I was pain free for the rest of the trip. He wasn't even phased
when I fell asleep at the end. The rest of my little group then piled in.

The receipt says "Masaje Piernas" All for 15 Euro. His name is Albero Perez trading as
Alberto Masajista, Marques de San Nicolas 618616494. Highly recommended.

I have been approached on PM, VERY politely to please change the title of the post- apparently the terminology is offensive and has connotations I would never have dreamed of. My apologies- and I am doing this openly as there may be others similarly insulted who would not have spoken up. No derogatory meaning was intended

Unfortunatey I can edit the text of my post but not the title- perhaps Ivar can help? The request is to address massage therapists

Down bag (90/10 duvet) of 700 fills with 180 g (6.34 ounces) of filling. Mummy-shaped structure, ideal when you are looking for lightness with great heating performance.

€149,-
I'm going to see my massage therapist after work ... I can't even begin to imagine how many times I've referred to her a "masseuse"! Oops!!:p:p Although I doubt anyone ever misunderstood my meaning, it's a great clarification.

I had an excellent massage at Albergue Casa Las Aguedas which is at Murias de Rechivaldo about 4 km past Astorga. The massage was from Priscilla (from Brazil) who is a hospitalero at the Alburgue and has a room there. It was a deep tissue massage and she was excellent. We had an excellent stay at the alburgue and a lovely communal vegetarian evening meal. They also provide breakfast.

Falling asleep during your massage is probably one of the biggest compliments you can *give* (since it's not a conscious compliment!) a massage therapist, @Introibo!

I had a full body massage for 60 euros at Casa Magica in Villatuerta and fell asleep at the end www.alberguevillatuerta.com. There was relaxing music playing in the background, I was knackered after a long walk and the massage was good. The muni at Los Arcos do a much cheaper full massage but not having tried it I can't compare value for money.
At another Albergue I also had a leg (just the one) given a good going over as I was experiencing some pain at the back of my thigh just above the knee. The massage therapist said it was down to having a knee support on too tight and cutting off my circulation. He was wasn't told that I had been wearing a support! There was no charge for this free bit of physiotherapy which did the trick and eased the pain. What tickled me was that the bloke doing the massage just broke off from preparing the dinner for five minutes to help me out, unfortunately I can't remember the name of the Albergue but it is mentioned in the Brierley guide that physiotherapy is on offer at this place.

May i ask what he charged?

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.
In Leon: Centro De Masaje; 25 Calle Ancha!
I sprained my back badly two days prior to Leon.
Two massages the next two nights got me there, but I was done!
My Camino was over.
Then, I had a "last-ditch" session with Carlos Alvarez Vasquez at Centro.
Osteopathic practitioner, trained in massage and K-Tape technology, he was amazing.
I finished my Camino!
Carlos rocks!

I had a great leg and foot massage from (I believe) the owner at La Casa Mágica in Villatuerta. I don't know that he is still there though, because I think that the albergue was for sale.
