Hello,
For those who have already done it, what is the weather like on this camino in august (heat ?) or in septembre (rain ?).
When do you think is the best period to do this caminô ?
Thanks so much

Don't know about August or September, but June was good!

my experience of portugal in august/september (coastal region between lisboa / porto and a bit inland) was hot and humid - plenty of mosquitos at times.
september more pleasant.
but who knows - with weather/climate patterns shifting all around us - more challenging to say what you will encounter THIS year.
go anyway :)
and enjoy
bom caminho!

Hi Barbara
Answers will be as varied as the weather.
Are you starting in Lisbon or Porto or Tui?
I have friends on way right now between Lisbon and Porto and virtually melting. They have walked in 43deg to high 30's recently - so it depends. Some like it hot. They aren't complaining. If they get their walking done in the morning it is easier to bear.
I walked from Porto in May 2012 and it was perfect and no rain either.
Maybe research the Internet to get a feeling for average temps and rain.
In Spain generally it is usually lovely in sept or oct.

It will be special to you no matter when you walk.

Bom caminho

Barbara, while living in Spain I walked from Porto to SdC in August.
FYI - It was extremely busy with a lot of groups of Spanish taking their annual holidays. Consequently very noisy and albergues super busy especially from Tui. Loads of Bicigrino groups also.
Because I felt I needed a little peace, I decided to backtrack from Tui to the coastal route (by bus) at that point. I spent several gorgeous days walking following the coast in relative peace meeting few other pilgrims but enough for pleasant evening meals together.

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.
Hello,
Thanks to you all for your answers. I conclude that September seems more agreeable than August.
I was thinking of leaving from Lisbon, but nothing is fixed yet.

Recycling the topic, I've researched a bit about the weather in March (when i intended to go there). Seems quite cool.

Has anyone done CP before Easter? Is it good, or it still feels like the end of winter?

I walked from Lisbon in September and it was HOT! I realize that we all have different definitions of what hot is but I come from Singapore and still thought it was hot. That said, it was not unbearable and I greatly enjoyed that Caminho. Just be prepared with a good hat, sun cream, lots of water and a decent measure of good sense.

I would like to walk the river route in Tui next month. I can see on google maps exactly where it starts, but it seems a bit overgrown. Has anybody used this route this year or last year...
Hello, my friend of 50+ years and I are on our first Camino walk. We are looking for: 1) safe, comfortable hostels in Lisbon; 2) stages from Lisbon to Porto (via Tomar) in about 16 days...
Hi I have searched everywhere to see if there is a luggage service from Lisbon to Porto. I know there is from Porto to Santiago, but Lisbon ???. Thanks for any info.
