Best way to get from Santiago to Triacastela?

When I first tried to get answers to my question I was advised that I could get a train from Santiago to Lugo and a bus from Lugo to Triacastela. Alternatively, I could get a bus or train to Sarria, then a bus to Triacastela. But I can't find any trains from Santiago to Sarria or Lugo, and I can't find any buses from Sarria or Lugo to Triacastela. I have found there is one bus each day from Santiago to Sarria, leaving at 15:00 and arriving at 17:45. The pensión where I have a reservation told me that there is a bus from Sarria at 18:00 to Triacastela, but I can't find anything to confirm it. I could telephone the various bus stations, but I cannot hold a conversation in Spanish over the telephone (or in any other way). They don't seem to use email, where I could use Google Translate. I know I could take a taxi, but I'd rather use public transport if I can.

You could just trust them. 🙂

Rome2rio isn't much help in this case. But there is this:

Enter Sarria for Origen and Triacastela for Destino and the date of your journey for Fecha and click on Buscar. There is a bus leaving Sarria at 18:00! When you click on the name of the bus company, you can see a list of all the stops along the way.

Note that it's Monday to Friday only.

Buen viaje!

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

Thank you very much. I'm sure I would never have found that website by myself.

Try Loco2. I randomly picked May 1 as a date and there are trains about 4 times a day from Santiago to Lugo and then trains hourly from Lugo to Sarria. Rome2rio then shows a bus to Triacastella. A cab shows about 30€. I found this as I’m going to be going Sarria to Samos and could not find schedules. I was putting in dates to far out. Good luck

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
Train from Santiago to Ourense then change and take train to Sarria
I can hardly believe it, but, unless Renfe's computer has something against me, there is only one train each day from Santiago to Sarria via Ourense. It arrives in Sarria too late for me to catch the bus to Triacastela. I can get a bus at 15:00 from Santiago, arrives Sarria at 17:45, so I should be able to catch the 18:00 to Triacastela. Thanks for all suggestions.
