Portuguese (March 2020)
I am starting the Camino Portuguese in early March and expect to arrive in Santiago de Compostela approximately 20 March. What is the best way to travel from SDC to Bilbao?

You can also fly. The flight is an hour and 5 minutes.

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
The drive sounds great. Does anyone know what you need to rent a car in Spain? We have an American drivers license and a passport. I suppose you would have to purchase their insurance.

If you're from outside the EU you will also need an international driver's permit. When I hire a car I always take the full insurance from the hire company. This means you are covered for all eventualities with no deductible and they won't hold a big deposit on your card.

Technical backpack for day trips with backpack cover and internal compartment for the hydration bladder. Ideal daypack for excursions where we need a medium capacity backpack. The back with Air Flow System creates large air channels that will keep our back as cool as possible.

€83,-
Use Rome2Rio.com to find options. Flying would be easiest and fastest.

I found a good priced airfare from Vigo to Bilbao. Took a short train ride from SDC to Vigo. Check fares from A Coruna too.

Plenty of low cost flights, but watch the extra charges for checked baggage, to print tickets, etc. I’m walking the Portuguese and the reverse on the Ingles in late May, then flying to Bilbao from A Coruña for 19€!

Ideal pocket guides for during & after your Camino. Each weighs only 1.4 oz (40g)!
