Beware: Fuentes Not Working in Casa de los Pinos and San Clemente

Just a heads up for some who may rely on fuentes for water refills (I know that I do). The fuentes (public water fountains) are not working in Casa de los Pinos and San Clemente. The Asociacion de Amigos del Camino de Santiago Comunidad Valenciana told me this before I left. In fact they said no fuentes until Mora. With rising temperatures higher than forecast it's no joke without water.

I don’t know if the fuentes were working when I walked, but I do remember several times on the Levante when I asked people for water. And usually they offered not only water, but also a soft drink or a beer! And sometimes a piece of fruit or a snack. This is a camino with so few peregrinos that I’ve never sensed that I was being a pest. And truthfully, there are a lot of lonely people in these small places who are only too glad to chat.
