SJDP to Burgos Sept 2018
Hi all
I arrive in Bilbao on 10am flight Sunday 8th Sept from Dublin to start back on my Camino from Burgos on the 9th. My dilemma is that trains to Burgos are either too early or too late and the buses leave centre of Bilbao at 11.00am or so, any buses after that means i arrive late evening into Burgos..I would be afraid I would miss the 11am bus options which get me to Burgos around 2pm which is great. Just wondering if anyone has any other ideas about how to get to Burgos? Is there a shared taxi option like they have in SJPDP? Thanks guys..

3rd Edition. More content, training & pack guides avoid common mistakes, bed bugs etc
The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.
Did you check the Alsa web site? There’s a couple of buses that will get you in late afternoon. For example, there’s a direct bus that leaves Bilbao at 4:00 PM and gets in a 5:45PM. That gives you plenty of time to get settled, get dinner, and get a good night’s sleep.

There’s a mid-afternoon train, too, that will get you in before 6:00 PM, too, but that’s slower and more expensive than the bus. Also, the Burgos train station is pretty far from the center, while the bus station is walking distance from everything. For trains, check the renfe schedule.

Thanks Andy, I saw that bus at 4pm too but I guess I wanted to get into Burgos earlier enjoy some lunch and visit the Cathedral again and just chill before walking but this is an option for sure 😁

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
Did same trip last year from Termibus . Bus from airport drops you to termibus every 30 mins or so.
I chose to stay in Bilbao, a great city, overnight they have an excellent metro which drops you to termibus station.
Have a great one.
