Boots

Hola chicos!

I'm not a very athletic person. In fact the hiking boots (la sportiva FC 3.0) that I bought for the camino are my first hiking boots ever. Normally I wear mary jane style shoes, so I'm trying to make the adjustment to wearing my hiking boots, because obviously I want to be used to them, and them to be broken in before I leave.

My question is, how can I tell if I have the right boots? So far I haven't gotten any blisters from my boots, but after wearing them for a little while (30 minutes or so) my feet get really uncomfortable. There is some wiggle room in the boots for my toes, and when I'm sitting they're fine. Is this a case of having the wrong boots, or just a case of me and my feet having to become accostomed to wearing shoes with actual support.

Any help you can give would be greatly appreciated.
Gracias!

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
So far in all of my times wearing the boots, walking hasn't been a problem, I don't feel ANY spots rubbing, or like they might rub in the future.

My concern is, is it just going to take me some time and discomfort to get used to wearing boots instead of mary janes, or are these not the right shoes for me?

Technical backpack for day trips with backpack cover and internal compartment for the hydration bladder. Ideal daypack for excursions where we need a medium capacity backpack. The back with Air Flow System creates large air channels that will keep our back as cool as possible.

In my experience ANY shoes which feel uncomfortable after only 30 minutes are probably never going to be ok for much longer than that - I wouldn't risk walking a camino in them. Can you go back to the shop and talk about it?

If I were you, I'd sell those boots on ebay.

Then go and get expert advice from a reputable outfitter, spend a lot of time in the store. Try on everything. Take the most comfortable boots home - you cn keep them for several days and return them as long as they haven't been worn outside. I did this - wore my new boots for three days for all my waking hours indoors. But then they were wonderfully comfortable in the store. I ended up wearing them on the camino.

I don't believe you can make uncomfortable boots comfortable, no matter what you do. Please don't start your camino with boots that don't fit well because you will sure regret it, and from your description, you don't have enough room in them.

Best of luck with your choices.
