Burgo Ranero - avoid La Laguna

Arrived in Burgo Ranero today and had the most horrible experience in Albergue la Laguna. He said he hadn't received my booking, was rude and shouting, and I had to find somewhere else. I have met people today who have had a similar experience. Apparently the restaurant across from the municipal albergue is owned by the same people and with similar attitude. It may be that my room was booked there and not their albergue as the numbers in Brierley's book are all wrong. Pay attention!

Ideal pocket guides for during & after your Camino. Each weighs only 1.4 oz (40g)!
@JeanB, you might want to edit your Thread title. There is more than one Albergue in El Burgo Ranero.

I note that la Laguna doesn't even get a mention on Gronze and seems to get some pretty poor reviews on most other sites. The Albergue de Peregrinos Domenico Laffi by contrast seems to have been enjoyed by many. Please don't confuse the two. I've no personal experience having always walked via the delightful municipal at Calzadilla de los Hermanillos. (The little brothers of the road or the little brothers in sandals - Templar servants too unimportant to be slaughtered who kept on doing what they'd always done. But thats an aside).

And I hope you get a good nights sleep. Buen camino

Absolutely! Just edited it. Thanks for pointing this out.

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.
La Laguna was one of our least favourite overnight stays. However this was in 2014.
Weird guy in charge, dormitory very basic and uninspiring then we noticed a couple of alcoves each with two wooden bunks and so we enquired, paid an extra 1€ each, moved there and that was better. Washrooms and toilets were poor.
