John Brierley mentions the Albergue Emaus on Calle Mateo Cerezo in Burgos. I found my way there after a long day´s walk. From what I could see, it no longer exists and the building looked very shabby and abandoned. I believe the very new albergue in the city centre will be opened soon, but I didn´t get a date.

Hey Clarissa!! So nice to hear from you! How are you doing peregrina??
I have been thinking about you and wondering about you and hoped that you were doing well, enjoying it so much that there was no time to post messages here!
Big hug girl!

CSJ 2008 agrees with you Clarisa. It states, "Casa de Peregrinos Emaus has moved and become the Casa Parroquial para peregrinos. Now at C/San Pedro Cardena, 32b Burgos 09002. (On way into Burgos, by the side of the Jesuit College, at the end of C/Diego Luis Vitores.) A Christian welcome with shared meal, Mass, prayer and housework. Open Easter to All Saints." Hope this helps someone!!!

New Original Camino Gear Designed Especially with The Modern Peregrino In Mind!
We stayed at Alburgue Emaus in October 2006 and it was lovely! A very quiet, spiritual place, small, with a shared dinner, religious ceremony/prayer, and very peaceful sleep.

Agreed totally. Although we'd heard of the new huge municipal refugio opened in the old city we decided to stay at Albergue Emaus in June 2009, and I would highly recommend it. We were warmly welcomed and well looked after by Marie Noelle the hospitalledero (of the Carmelite Order of Notre Dame de Vie). Comfy beds and spotless showers and toilets. It was like Pentecost at the short meditation before supper - there were at least five languages spoken.
