Burgos ~ Santiago ?

We leave soon! The 24th....Yeah!!

We have 21 days of walking the Camino!! Plan is to start in Burgos, we ended there in 2015 via SJPP, and continuing onto Santiago is the ultimate goal. We arrive in Burgos at 11am if all goes well. We want to get through the mesetta asap. We would like to leave Burgos the same day we arrive since we’re arriving midday. ( In 2015 we spent a few days in Burgos ).
A few questions please...
First, would get far enough to make it worthwhile leaving same day?
Secondly, we have 21 days of walking. Is it possible to get to Santiago from Burgos in that time?

I think your post is actually quite hard to answer, and actually raises more questions .

Depends how far you have travelled (jet lag)
How far you like to walk each day?
How fast you walk.

You could aim for Hornillos. 21 kms. (5 hours?) It's a really nice section.

Secondly, we have 21 days of walking. Is it possible to get to Santiago from Burgos in that time?

How fit you are,
If you avoid injury.

Certainly possible.

Firstly, yes, if you want to start walking straight away you have quite a few options for the first night's accommodation - Tarjados is a nice 11.5km walk, Rabe is 1.9km past that. See Gronze here.

To see how far you can get with 21 days of walking, I would use the planner at Godesalco. Here. It allows you to put in your starting place, and pick how far you think you could walk each day, with all possible combinations.

I walked from Burgos to Santiago in 19 days on my first Camino. On your first day you could walk 10.85 km to Tardajos, or a little further to Rabé de las Calzadas. Both places have albergues.

We’re very fit.
On avg easily walk 15 miles.

1) Why would you go through Meseta ASAP? Do you know what it is like? Why not experience it??? For me and a lot of others it was a highlight of the whole Camino. It's not a desert if you think so according to some postings

2) I'd say start walking and get at least as far as Rabe de los Calzados on the first day. Reserve a bed and you are good to go if you don't feel like spend more time in beautiful Burgos.

3) 21 days from Burgos to Santiago is plenty, you'll be OK or even have the time to walk to Fisterra/Muxia

If very fit as you say, then you should do it quite easily. I'm 70 yrs old, did the same walk last May from the 15th and arrive in Santiago on 29 May.

I did that stretch as a first timer in 21 days ...
Should be possible if you do not dawdle in Burgos...

If you are "very fit" here is a suggested program: day 1 Burgos to either Tardajos or Rabe (10.km or 12.5) - its a relatively easy walk to get you going; Day 2 Rabe to Hontanas- we did this in the rain in May 2017. You will probably arrive early afternoon but I would still stop here - you don't want blisters on day 2; Day 3 Hontanas through Castrojeriz (a coffee stop), up the alto (about a 200 metre climb) and then down the steeper side into Itero for an early lunch and then on to Boadilla for 30 km day; Day 4 Boadilla through Fromista (again the coffee stop) and on to Carrion - you can stop here as there is nothing for another 17 km. Day 5 We did Carrion to Ledigos but if you are hitting your strides you could easily make Sahagun for a 38km day - but its fairly flat. Days 6/7 - its about 60 km from Sahagun to Leon so its still a 2 day trek. If you do a longer day 1 (to Hornillos) you can do it 6 days (but there are some long days in this - Brierley stages it at 8). From Leon you can set your own pace so good luck!!

I would do the first few days like this, and make sure to stay at Albergue La Finca in Población de Campos. Possibly the best albergue on the CF. Certainly the best "bunks", which are all like tiny rooms. The uppers even have mini staircases to access them. They let you use the washing machine for free, and the pilgrim dinner is excellent.

The Meseta is wonderful. I recommend relishing every moment of it. It's an experience which is very special. If you go into it rushing and expecting it to be horrible, then you will get nothing out of it. Approach the Meseta with awe, look for the beauty, and you will find it.
