Too many to mention...
Hi folks...hope you are all well!
It is not too long before I head off again and walk for a little bit, this time 11 days.
By my reckoning, I should reach Belorado or further, I don't pick up injuries that is.

When finished, I will need to get to Burgos to travel by train to Bilbao airport.
I hope to use the Jiminez bus to get to Burgos from wherever I finish.

My question is..is it a good idea to book a train ticket now or wait until I get there.
There is a train @10.30 and another after 2pm.

I'm leaning toward the side of caution and may wait until I finish up.
Thanks!
David

I'd wait. There are lots of buses from Burgos to Bilbao in the unlikely event you can't get a seat on the train.

The bus to the Bilbao airport leaves from the Bilbao bus station. You may need to take the Euskotren/Transvia Bilbao, Bilbao Metro, or the Renfe Cercanius Bilbao from the train station (Abando) to the bus station (San Memes).

Hi David,
Just to let you know that there is a diect bus from Belorado to Bilbao.I walked from St.Jean to Belorado last May and then got a direct bus from Belorado to Bilbao (I travelled on the 8.45am bus on a Monday morning)

The bus company is La Union Alavesa
La Unión Alavesa (Bilbao)
http://www.autobuseslaunion.com
and I've attached a timetable.

As far as I can remember the journey cost about €15 and takes about 2 hours. The bus leaves you at the central bus station (Termibus) in Bilbao from where there are direct buses to the airport

rgds & Buen camino,

Peadar

Thanks so much Peadar..that's exactly what I was hoping to hear.
A few friends told me the same thing but I couldn't find anything online.
I was going to hop on the bus to Burgos so.
La Union are a great company! I used them to get to Logrono from Bilbao in May...fast is an understatement :)

I have been in Bilbao a number of times and know my way around :)

Buen Camino to you too Peadar!
Slan!

David

I've just discovered there is a Belorado - Bilbao bus so that is my best bet :)

I just noticed there that the bus stops at Vitoria. Is that just a pitstop or is there another bus to catch?
Thanks!

Technical backpack for day trips with backpack cover and internal compartment for the hydration bladder. Ideal daypack for excursions where we need a medium capacity backpack. The back with Air Flow System creates large air channels that will keep our back as cool as possible.

Sorry David I meant to add also you don't have to change buses.a few people got off to use toilets in the bus station and buy a coffee etc
