As I'll be walking the Camino Frances in stages, could anyone please advise how I can travel from Burgos (end of stage 1) to Madrid (to fly home)? My Spanish is minimal so which would be the easiest way?
Thank you

Either way you go, you want "Ida" (ee-da) (one way) not "Ida y Vuelta (round trip)

You can go by bus or train. At the bus station, each bus company has a sign which states the cities they go to.

For bus information, go to http://www.alsa.es

For train information, go to http://www.renfe.es, then click on "Buscador de Horarios" (schedules), then search for Burgos to Madrid. If you go to the train station, there will be a sign telling you what the schedule is. You can then buy your ticket at the station.

Salidas=Departures
Llegadas=Arrivals

My husband will walk the Camino with me from Roncesvalles to Burgos. Then he must return home. I checked the alsa bus schedule and it looks like he has 2 different bus stations to arrive to in Madrid.

If he is going directly to the airport to catch a flight, which bus station is best to arrive at?

Ideal pocket guides for during & after your Camino. Each weighs only 1.4 oz (40g)!

No doubt, it's the Intercambior on Avenida de America. A bus leaves that station for the airport every 30 minutes. Cost 2 Euros. Quick and easy.
