Bus from Santiago to Fisterra or any other options?

Hi everyone,

do you know how to get the best to Finisterre - is it by bus? And which company, where to buy tickets, etc? Wont have time to walk there but wanna see the end of the world and have one day max (Thursday afternoon after coming to Santiago or Friday) for it before leaving to Madrid. Thanks for advice! 🙏

Down bag (90/10 duvet) of 700 fills with 180 g (6.34 ounces) of filling. Mummy-shaped structure, ideal when you are looking for lightness with great heating performance.

€149,-
You could go by scheduled bus (cheapest), join a tour (takes you around all the sights), or rent a car (gives you flexibility). Your departure time for Madrid may determine which of those options is suitable for you.

Scheduled bus - Monbus

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

Personally, I'd take the bus from Santiago to Finisterre, purely because you'll see more of the country travelling that way, albeit most of it will be motorway. However, you'll see more once it begins going through the towns/villages. If you're boarding at Santiago you'll get the bus ticket at the appropriate booth/window for Finisterre.

I think the bus might be on a four lane highway for less than 10km of the total. Most of the journey is on two-lane country roads; and they are quite twisty in places.

I think there are two different routes - the bus out to Finisterre was quick and mainly on motorways and main roads, and the bus that brought me back to SDC was the milk run - took forever, stopped at every little village and town (lots seaside), narrow twisty roads, and the motorway into SDC for a very short time. I enjoyed the second because it was rather like doing a tour of that part of Galicia. But it did take at least twice as long.

Technical backpack for day trips with backpack cover and internal compartment for the hydration bladder. Ideal daypack for excursions where we need a medium capacity backpack. The back with Air Flow System creates large air channels that will keep our back as cool as possible.

Hi Lu
There are tour buses which go to Finisterre and Muxia but these tend to be expensive. There is a public service bus but the timetable is limited and from memory leaves you very little time. My son came out to meet me after my first Camino and we rented a car for the day and drove ourselves. This was cheaper than the two of us using the tour bus. The other advantage is that you are free to stop when and where you like. We set off about 10.00 and got back about 17.00 had two meals on the way and several photograph stops. It was a very relaxed day. There are several car rental offices at the railway station. Hope this helps
Buen Camino
