What station/line should I choose in Pamplona to SJPDP? Do more routes typically open up closer to date? I depart Pamplona to SJPDP April 20 and as of now they are only showing two trips in the afternoon and evening only. Should I purchase the ticket this far in advance?

€2,-/day will present your project to thousands of visitors each day. All interested in the Camino de Santiago.

That looks to be correct for the time of year - they put more on later in the season. Alsa operate a service at 14.30 and another at 17.30 - both depart from the main bus station in Pamlona (Estacion de autobuses, in Calle Yanguas y Miranda). Probably not essential to purchase this far in advance, but keep an eye on the timetable in case they add another one nearer the time, and once you're sure of your arrival time etc you may as well buy. Good luck!

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

You were looking at ALSA/CONDA schedules (ALSA is part owner of CONDA). For your date there are just two buses a day. However you are lucky. On Tuesdays and Fridays the bus line PLM Autocares has service between Pamplona and Valcarlos and Arneguy (but nowhere else.) You could get off in Valcarlos (the bus stops there although it is not shown on the webpage below) and, if you feel comfortable walking the camino in reverse (it is not marked in reverse) you could walk to SJ and the next day take the Route Napoleon to Roncevalles.
