In April this year, I had to pull the plug on my walk from Madrid at Sarria due to joint pain, and incessant rain. I took the exact trip in reverse, Sarria - Lugo - Santiago. Of course, after 12 straight days of rain and wind, the sun came out as I exited the Estacion de Autobuses at Santiago...go figure...

The trip, via Lugo can take about two hours, assuming a decent connection at Lugo. I recommend making reservations, then taking an afternoon bus from Santiago to Lugo, then to Sarria. There is frequent service, as depicted above.

Monbus is the bus company on these routes. Their web site is monbus.es. They do not have mobile app that I am aware of.

I hope this helps.
