Even the best plans can leave out something from the packing. In our case the extra cold weather meant we needed extra fleeces.
In Oviedo there are 3 outdoor shops, on Manuel Pedregal and Nueve de Mayo, with one of these on the ground floor of the Hipercor Centeno. They are not cheap. I bought cheap fleeces from the outdoor (Thursday) market.

While in Santander, on the way home, we found an excellent shop with all types of equipment for hiking and mountaineering. It is 'LĂmite' on the street called Arrabal, not far from the ferry-port. It is about 3 streets back from the Paseo de Pareda and the Pereda Gardens.

There is also a shop in Ribadesella between the Meson Goleta and the Hotel Covadonga

Does anyone have any other recommendations?
If there are any on the Inglés in particular we would appreciate them, 'just in case', thank you.

Technical backpack for day trips with backpack cover and internal compartment for the hydration bladder. Ideal daypack for excursions where we need a medium capacity backpack. The back with Air Flow System creates large air channels that will keep our back as cool as possible.

€83,-
There's a small shop, stocked up to the roof, in CastrojerĂz, at the top end of town, very near the Albergue San Esteban (which I also recommend). I mention this one, because one thinks only of the big towns like Pamplona, Burgos, Leon, etc. where one might find outdoor equipment. Anne

I bought a few things in that store (ferretria) in Castrojeriz including a pocket knife which I still carry and which reminds me of the Camino whenever I pull it out.
