Hey all,

I'm starting the camino with 3 friends on Friday 15th September. We get to St. Jean the night before at 18:30 and are wondering whether it will be possible to buy walking poles there or if the shops will be closed by that time. We're trying to avoid having to check our bags if possible by buying them once we arrive.

Many thanks for any insight!

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

€46,-
The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.

I bought a round shipping tube and packed it with my trekking poles, knife and cork puller. I checked that package and carried on everything else. The shipping tube came through just fine in Paris. If it hadn't, I always had the option to buy things in St. Jean.

I like tomnorth's solution. Always have a Plan B. The shipping tube is a very good way to check all "sharps" and stuff best not brought through security.
