Hey futurefjp...! Sorry, no real comment on the question asked. But I DO notice that you walked from Yorkshire to Aachen in Germany! Wow. How far was that? Was the 'from your front door'? And it took 5 months? How WAS that? I have done 2 Caminos but am increasingly attracted by the thought of setting off from wherever you live...
 
Haven't done it myself but when I was a hospitalera this summer in El Burgo Ranera I met a pilgrim who had started his walk from Plum Village. He was a bit surprised that I was familiar with Thay's retreat.
 
The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
I worked from August to December. I walked from Fountains Abbey to Harwich(ish) and Dordrecht to Köln went to Ireland and did a little of the WW. I went from Wuppertal to Aachen over Christmas.
