Any recommendations on Gites in Cahors?

Hi, welcome to the forum! In Cahors I stayed at the Youth Hostel (Auberge de Jeunesse). There was a Pilgrim Welcome Office on the bridge, as you cross the river into the city, so we called in. They gave us a cold cordial drink and asked us where we were staying. “Zut alors!” No reservation?! “Oh la la!!” The man phoned the youth hostel and booked us in there. It’s a huge place and it was almost empty. 4 of us had a 10 bed dorm to ourselves. It cost 15 euros (May 2014), and the breakfast for 4 euros was really good. Jill

Don't know about gîtes in Cahors, but I strongly recommend trying the strong dark local vin noir. Clément Marot, François I's poet laureate, sang the praises of this liqueur de feu, and it was allegedly served at the wedding feast of Eleanor of Aquitaine and Henry II of England.

Le Papillon vert -- Jacqui is a wonderful host. Be sure to enjoy her healthy breakfast. It's centrally located and she'll recommend good restaurants.

Actually, he son Eden now runs it and it is just as wonderful. He made a fabulous dinner for us this year. And he is fluent on English as is his mom. We stayed there two years in a row and loved it!

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

€46,-
I stayed in the Youth Hostel twice its ok, but the best place is Gite d'Ă©tape Le Relais des Jacobins, 12 Rue de Jacobins, run by Serge it is a popular place so book in advance do have the dinner there.
