I wish you luck with your camera. Last year I was trying to fix something in my DSLR Canon in Toledo and they told me to go to Madrid. I called Madrid office and they said the repair would take 3 weeks. I couldn't believe that
I feel your pain. Unfortunately, even if you find a shop that can do the repair, unless it's something really simple the time and expense of repairing may make it more expedient to simply replace the camera -- even if it's something simpler and less expensive. The G15 is too nice a camera to simply write off unless the cost repair is not economically a good option, so perhaps you might ship it home and deal with it later. I'm a believer in redundency, and typically travel with a second camera as a back-up. But for most of us, it's not practical to carry a back-up camera on the Camino, unless the back-up happens to be a smart phone that you're carrying anyway. Good luck in whatever the outcome.
