Camino Angels

I was wondering...as I walked the Way...many of you know that I had a few occasions where things were rapidly turning against my completing my Camino.

Then, out of the blue, someone came along.

When I was obviously very injured...they gave me a ride to the amblatoria...when my baggage was lost...they spent time and money helping me get it back...when I was re injured...they appeared out of no where to make sure I was OK...when I just needed someone to listen...they nodded knowingly and let me pour my heart out.

Do you have a similar story?

Was there a point on Your Camino when you needed someone or something and...there it was!

Was there a time when all seemed to be going wrong, or at least not as you would have chosen...and, suddenly...THERE was the answer...and you pressed on!

Who was your Camino Angel?

One of our Camino Angels was the Pharmacist in Trinidad de Arre who took the time to dress Joe's wound and give him medicine for very little cash. We were both quite touched by his kindness and generosity.

I have to say here there are also Camino Devils! ::laughing:::

One was the barkeeper at Ferreiros who took payment for a bottle of wine from a Portuguese man who treated the table. We WATCHED him pay. Then, after he continued on his Camino, and had left the bar, she charged US again! Rather than argue, we paid, but it didn't feel very good as we had all watched him pay the first time. She earned some rotten Karma that day...

But the Angels GREATLY outweighed the Devils. Most of the Devils we met were tourists rather than locals.

Whenever the oppressive heat and humidity threatened to overwhelm me, a breeze came up. The Camino provides.

When you stop at a bar for a beer, wine, coffee or bite to eat, and sit at a table, is it expected that you will return your dirty dishes up to the bar before you leave? I alway do, as it seems...
Let me preface this by saying please understand I am not picking on anybody, I fully understand that mistakes happen and how. Been there, done that. I have been astonished to see so many lost...
