Hello,

I am looking for anyone who has walked from Oloron-Ste.-Marie to meet up with the Camino Frances in Puente la Reina. I am coming to France next month and would like more information on this route, as well as to talk with anyone who might be planning such a walk. Bueno camino, VP.

Piemont route or Aragones

Hello VP.
There are two ways of walking from Oloron - along the Piemont route which goes to St Jean Pied de Port:

http://vppyr.free.fr/vpp-index-etapes.php3

Or, you can take the route that goes from Oloron through Somport and Jaca. (If you can spare 2 more days you could start at Lourdes.)

(Scroll down to page 22 for maps from Oloron)

From Oloron:
Oloron Sarrance 22
Sarrance Borce 22
Borce Somport 18

On Somport to Puente la Reina you'll find a lot of info on daily stages, relief maps, refuges etc at

http://www.munidcamino.com.
You can even order your compostela from them ahead of time.

There is also info here:

Have a great walk!

Sil, is there an English/Spanish version of those maps?

Piemont/Aragones routes

I think - being based in France - that most of those websites are in French.

These have an English link:

For other maps leading to Somport you could check on the Via Tolosana website as well. (Toulouse to Puente La Reina)

For the Gite at Oloron:

And if you want to try many more links visit Peter's site at:

Good luck!

excellent

Sil,

great work; this is even better than the last. The second link is exactly what I have been looking for (how does she do it?!). Thanks again for your expert web sleuthing skills. VP

Camino Aragonés

Hola vitaminporter,
Sil is a great help to us all. Thanks Sil.
I will be starting from Somport about 25th April. Flying into Pau on 23rd.
I will have two friends with me for the first 9 days or so and then hope to go on alone. Would love to make contact with you.

I know this area of Aragón well as my husband comes from near Puenta la Reina de Jaca.

If I can help do contact me,
Eleanor
