Spirit of the Camino (Nick)
Time of past OR future Camino
Some in the past; more in the future!
There is currently a free exhibition in the Plaza Mayor in Ourense displaying Camino Francés watercolour paintings by Alicia Aradilla.

For any Sanabrés pilgrims staying in, or passing through, Ourense, it’s certainly worth a few minutes of your time.

Here are some of the paintings that I especially liked:

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.
Hi @jungleboy and Wendy -

I’m currently in Ourense taking some extra rest days due to a minor foot problem so I checked out Alicia Aradilla’s lovely Camino exhibition at the Plaza Mayor.

All the watercolours were beautifully painted - her use of colour and the ink detailing were wonderful. I admired all the paintings but this one ‘spoke’ to me -

How many of us light candles in churches while on camino? We will never know the number and we will never know the myriad of reasons why. For me, the lighting of candles is a connection to people I’ll never meet but we share that connection through the act of the lighting of those candles.

Thank you for sharing the news of this wonderful exhibition.

Best wishes -

Jenny

Sorry to hear about your foot but that’s great that you saw and enjoyed the exhibition. We are still in Ourense as I have been isolating but I am symptom-free now and ready to start walking to Cea tomorrow.

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
