Lorrainemc and BlackDog...welcome to the Forum and the Class of 2012!

I trust you've had the opportunity to wade through the many interesting threads that make up the "slightly addled" brain trust that is the Forum. Over the years, Forum members have offered sage advice, gone where angels fear to tread and encouraged countless thousands to walk the Way and let the Camino dictate the outcome.

Great to have you both along for the walk...please keep us in the loop as you plan and then walk the Way.

Buen Camino,

Arn

Thanks Arn. I've scoured and continue to scour the forum for views, advice, packing lists, gear suggestions, etcetera and have found it invaluable. Many thanks to all those who contribute! :D

We are also travelling from Melbourne and walking in August/September. There are 3 of us and we'll be travelling on the ferry from Plymouth to Santander. Can anyone suggest how to reach St Jean from Santander to begin the walk?

Welcome Lorrainmc , I to am from melbourne, unfortunately my camino is over, this year the has been a huge jump in australian pilgrims, on my first 2 caminos it was rare to see an australian, this year I saw many, I dont know why? It cant be the movie 'The Way' it is too soon after its theatre release to make an impact yet.

I wish you a buen Camino,

i wish i was starting again and not sitting in a Beijing hotel on my way home:(

Ideal pocket guides for during & after your Camino. Each weighs only 1.4 oz (40g)!
Ho Cojudake?

If you are landing in Santander then it is easy enough to find a train to the French border and then onto Bayonne. From Bayonne you can go to SJPP.

My wife and I will start out from Pamplona on Aug 29 to Santiago; from there we'll proceed to Fisterra but by bus instead of walking. Hope to meet you on the road.
