Camino de Madrid 2019

Just finished my Camino de Madrid and got my Carta Peregrina in Sahagún.
(Last three days were not easy because of the weather)

I lined up at the museum /church at Shahagun on the hill, for that certificate in 2018. It's written in ancient Spanish. It's received for being the halfway point of the Francis also, from St Jean PdP to Santiago. Lots of walkers don't know about it.
Starting from Madrid, is the path well marked and supported? It's my next Camino.

i believe it is meant mainly for the french camino pilgrims as the halfway certificate. however, it's also teh halfway place (more or less) for the madrid camino to santiago as this is where we join the french camino. there is also a 'madrid certificate - the santiagueña matritense' you can request at the church of santiago in madrid once you recieve your compostela and having walked the madrid camino.

most of it is very well marked. that said, i did rely on gronze.com and google maps on several occasions, there can be long stretches without arrows or shells. surprisingly, madrid city once you get to plaza castilla is well marked.

Congratulations!

Since we finished our camino walks for 2019 there, we considered this our certificate of completion. And a very fitting one indeed. This gets a place of honor in our scrapbook of completion documents. It's arguably the loveliest. Loved the museum as well, especially the statue of the peregrine.

awesome! 14, but starting a stage before madrid city. the stage between tres cantos and manzanares is really nice, perhaps a good place to start. buen camino
