Camino del Norte in November

camino del norte (2015)
Hi Guys!

I want to make part of Camino del Norte to Santiago in first half of November. However I am concerned about weather conditions. Anyone here that made camino during this time? I will have more or less 12 days would you recommend where I could start my way? Thank you and I will really appreciate your help!

The 9th edition the Lightfoot Guide will let you complete the journey your way.
It will be wet, probably fairly cold. The Norte is quite hard work but it depends on your walking speed, fitness, etc. The days are short and sometimes the cheap places to stay are a long way apart. You might want to start close to the end if this is your first Camino. I would suggest not being too ambitious with the distances, not more than 25 km a day, possibly less, more like 20 unless you are a fast walker. Try to allow for a hotel room every other night if your budget will allow this, and take good quality bad weather gear.

I'm hoping to arrive on the Norte near Comillas around November 5 and am expecting to get fairly (or very) wet fairly (or very) often. I'm from the Cumbrian uplands (England's wettest and coldest county) so the rain/cold is not really a problem for me. Also, Spain has about 2 hours more daylight than northern England at that time of year, but other people might find it uncomfortable.

Hope to see you out there. Buen camino.

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.

Tomorrow I fly to Bilbao to start my 5th stint on the Camino. I did the Frances in three parts (2016, 2017 and 2022). Last year I did the Portuguese from Porto. I did the first 200 km of the...
