Time of past OR future Camino
Walking from April 12th, 2017
Hi There,
I am starting my Camino the 12th of April from Saint Jean Pied de Port,
so I should be walking Easter week and Easter Sunday.

Would this make much of a difference while walking the Camino?
will Auberges be running as normal?

Albergues and hotels should be open and quite busy! In France, Spain, and Portugal, Good Friday, April 14, and Easter Monday, April 17, are public holidays.

Be sure that you have enough cash for the holiday weekend. Many ATM machines might get 'milked dry' during the long weekend.

Check this recent thread for others walking at the same time.

Happy Easter and Buen camino!

My dad and I did this last year and spent the long weekend in Pamplona. While it didn't affect our accommodation, it did affect what shops were open (we were hunting for new boots unfortunately!) Pack snacks and you should be fine :)

The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.
I usually try and walk over Easter - Spring and all its glorious wildflowers, never had a problem finding a place to lay my head. Many many pilgrims and many not so pilgrims, for the price of a credencial anyone can enjoy a very pleasant and inexpensive vacation walking the Camino for a few days. No disparaging words, just the facts ma'am.
