There are probably not many members in Paris currently, but to those who are, the second Camino Film Festival is taking place at the Cervantes Institute in November.

craiger1511,

The movie Saint-Jacques...La Mecque is based on a novel by Coline Serreau published 2005 by Flammarion. You can buy the French edition of the book and the later movie version on Amazon. Basically this is the story of four adult siblings, three men and one woman, who do not get along and who must walk the Le Puy camino in order to receive their inheritance. Additionally it is a story of whom they meet on their journey and how everyone changes along the way.

If you enter each title into the Search box on the Forum you will find a multitude of earlier posts re several of these Festival titles.

Happy research and Buen camino

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.
ith the exception of The Way might any of these films be available via streaming in the US?
I was surprised to discover today that La Voie Lactée / The Milky Way is available on Apple's iTunes and AppleTV+. For those not familiar with it, Buñuel's movie from 1969 is most certainly NOT a traditional camino/pilgrims movie.

Saint Jacques ... La Mecque is a delightful comedy movie about pilgrims on the way to Santiago from 2005. I don't know whether it was ever dubbed into English or subtitled in English. Note that DVDs in French often don't have subtitles/dubbing in foreign languages.

PS: I see now that the release of the movie for the Canadian market has English subtitles. The title of the movie is "Saint Jacques ... La Mecque. Start Walking".

I'm in Paris right now and it appears that the national anti-COVID lockdown put into place last night here in France, to last until December, has cancelled the film series shown in the poster. I visited the Paris Cervantes Institute website looking for information but I found nothing - no cancellation announcement, no sign that the events were ever scheduled. So, it appears this is not happening. I hope they reschedule it once the lockdown ends.

Thanks, I was going to point out that this would be cancelled, as all cinemas are closed.
