Plan on reaching Sjpp on 1st April. Start on 2 or 3 April 2019.
Hi,
I started from Pamplona on 25 July and stayed at Albergue Plaza Catedral. Because of Covid the occupancy allowed was only 50% and many pilgrims I saw coming after 4.00 pm were struggling to get a bed.

Next day I walked to Uterga and I stayed there for the night. Both the hostels were open. Again here occupancy allowed was only 50% and same with all other albergues.

I was at Azorfa last night and only 5 out of 8 rooms were occupied. Small pueblos are not very busy.

Everyday so far I have walked with someone I met at the hostal and have had lunch and dinner with other pilgrims but definitely feel that there are not as many pilgrims like in 2019.

I have been staying in small pueblos without making a reservation and have not had a problem.

I have used the website Gronze.com to know which pueblos have open Albergues.

So far there have been sufficient cafes open that I have never felt worried about food or water, although I carry a banana and chocolate everywhere. 😄.
Most pilgrims I have met are from Spain and France this year.
I am enjoying the Camino!

Technical backpack for day trips with backpack cover and internal compartment for the hydration bladder. Ideal daypack for excursions where we need a medium capacity backpack. The back with Air Flow System creates large air channels that will keep our back as cool as possible.

Thank you for mentioning the website gronze.com, as it looks like it will be very helpful for finding spots along the way! We hope to start the Frances around Sept. 10.

Thank you so much for the detailed report. I will be starting the end of August alone as a first timer. I was concerned about getting accommodations.
Also about finding someone to transport my pack.
Thank you
