I am super excited, and a bit nervous, about my upcoming Camino Frances (beginning July 16 from SJPP). Here are a few questions that I would love current advice for:
1. Are there two auberges in Roncesvalles or just one?
2. Do I need to prebook the auberge in Roncesvalles for mid-July? If so, how far ahead of time?
3. I know that Roncesvalles does not offer blankets. I plan to bring just a sleeping bag liner - will that be enough (I can throw on my fleece and yoga pants and socks if cool)?
4. I have a lightweight travel pillow - should I include it in my pack?
Thanks for your help. I greatly appreciate it.

Hi @Parksville! There is just one (very large) Albergue in Roncesvalles and pretty rare to have it totally full. There are a couple of hostels and a hotel there as well, however and Burgette is just a few kms down the road if needed/wanted. Don't believe you can reserve the Albergue but if you want breakfast make sure you book it right away as it often sells out and then you have to wait until Burgette to have a morning bite. By mid-July it would be pretty unlikely you'd need more than your liner but absolutely correct about wearing a piece of warmer clothing or two. Smart to keep your weight down! I love my travel pillow (I use a Therm-a-Rest foam style pillow 9oz) and take it with me everywhere so I have a comfortable, consistent pillow and I know who used it last :D
Hope you have a great experience,
Buen Camino!
