Yep... just before arriving at Rebecca's on the left side of the trail.
Paddy showed it to me last year.
That's the only one I know of.

There are stone spirals, if those count. One on the big table-land between San Juan de Ortega and Burgos, looking out over the city. A beautiful and remote one way up above the treeline on the camino from Santiago de Peñalba, above Ponferrada. there are at least two more I know of, but it would spoil a lovely surprise if I told where they all were, no?

The one between Terradillos de Templarios and Moratinos is a small Cretan-style labyrinth that´s not always well-maintained. Lots of people stop to rest at the little wayside well (there are benches to sit on, but the water isn´t potable), many don´t even realize the stones form a design.

But others evidently know very well what a labyrinth is. They leave little offerings behind, in the center. Small rites go on there every equinox and solstice, just to keep the Vibe going. It´s nice having a labyrinth nearby (I really like the German word for labyrinth: Obulus.)

The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.
Hi susiew,

A friend of mine recently directed me to a pretty cool website, the World-wide Labyrinth Locator! The home page is http://www.labyrinthlocator.com/. You can search the world for labyrinths, by country (and narrowing down from there). A search for labyrinths in Spain brings up 19 hits:

http://www.labyrinthlocator.com/locate- ... mit=Search

It looks like at least a couple would be near, or on, the Camino Frances route - Rebekah (or someone else who knows Spain better than I do at this point), can you take a look at the list and comment?

I'll be walking the Camino Frances for the first time this September and would love to visit a labyrinth on the way if timing and distance makes sense!

I looked at the site and it´s got some really cool things on it, esp. those ones up in Basque Country, integrated into Christian churches. Others are petroglyphs, little carvings on rocks. If you´re planning a visit to any of them make sure the labyrinth described is accessible, visible, and able to be walked. Some of these are 6 or 8 cm. big, carved into walls. Others are in peoples´personal gardens or yards.

Aside from the little one near our place, I only see one other right along the Camino Frances. It´s the Astorga one, and anyone from the heartland of North America knows what a Corn Maze is -- a tourist attraction in a place with otherwise nothing to offer anybody! This one costs 5 Euros to walk through, 10 Euros if you want the Tshirt.

A little bit of Ohio, right out out there in Orbigo!
