Camino Frances Photo Project for September Babies

"A Day in the Life of the Camino Frances"

Sorry I haven't been online lately, but this thing called "work" has been interfering with my downtime. ;)

Anyway, for those of you who will be on the Camino Frances in September, I hope you will consider contributing to this project. I plan to be on the Camino from 9/11 to 9/27, so anywhere in that time frame is up for grabs. :)

I wondered what it would be like to have a snapshot of a day all along the Camino Frances, so I propose that those of us who will be on the Camino at that time select a day & time to take a photo of ourselves & where we are that day. When we return home, you can upload your photos to a free hosting service like Photobucket (or some other way that I can get a copy of them--I am a computer/techo idiot, so it needs to be simple). I would then put a slideshow together of our photos, post it to YouTube to promote this forum.

Note: If you don't want a photo of yourself on the Net, you can take a photo of where you are. Unless you state otherwise, I will only use your forum name & the place your photos are from (ie, WolverineDG, Meseta) in the slideshow. If you don't want your forum name used, I will only say "Forum Member, Pamplona".

I'm hoping to get photos from places all along the Camino taken on the same day at the same time, including Santiago. Ivar, I hope you can contribute a photo or two from Santiago (if you have time, of course; maybe a photo of the cathedral & your new hostal?)

I'm open to suggestions for days & times. :) I hope you can participate in this project & look forward to seeing your photos!

Hi Kelly.

We plan to finish in Santiago on the 10th or 11th and we are leaving Santiago on the 12th, so if it's 9/11 (a date that will live in infamy) or the 12th we will participate.

Regardless, I think it's a wonderful idea and hope that you get lots of participation.

Hi Kelly,
I'm definitely up for this. I start on the 11th from Le Puy, so anytime from that date onwards is fine with me.

This will be really interesting!

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.
NB, that sounds great. If a later date is picked, however, could you take a couple of shots of Santiago anyway? I'm not sure if we'll get someone in the project who will be in Santiago that day, but I'd feel funny excluding it.

For everyone else, does Sept. 12 sound fine? I will be leaving Logrono that day, NB will be in Santiago & Aarleks will be in/around Le Puy. If Sept. 12 is your travel day, take snaps of your pack or you getting on the plane or arriving in SJPdP. :)

I'd like to set a time, say noon, since that's easy to remember, but if you see a sunrise or site that you just have to take a photo of, that's fine. :) And if you are leaving Ciraqui (after Puente la Reina), please at some point turn around & get a shot of the church on the hill with the light from the tunnel shining from it. It's a really cool site, btw.

Count me in Kelly!
We should be walking from Mansilla de las Mulas to Leon that day. Do you want one or many photos? Might be nice to have a few to choose from?
Hugs,

Wow, Sil, we will be so close together, & yet so far.

As for the number of photos, maybe no more than 4 per person (?). YouTube has a limit on the size of the file that you upload. Of course, the more I have to choose from, the better, right? :)

Thanks for helping out with this project!!

Sept. 12th is fine. I probably take pictures every day, so I hope some of them can be ok. I probably are in the area near Logroño. depending of how fast we walk.
