Hi Penny, I've done it last January by bike. The first problem i faced - water... You have to think properly about waterproof clothes, especially for legs. Even if it's wet, it should be warm to be on the road. Snow on the peaks, sometimes it's not possible to ride by trail and you have to go by alphalt road.
Take with you 2 pairs of neopren socks, waterproof covers for shoes. And additional brakepads, because dirt and water do their job fast.
