Camino is calling me back..

Time of past OR future Camino
Burgos ---> Santiago (2016)
Porto ---> Santiago (2018)
This August I hiked 305 km of the Camino de Santiago with my best friend. Recently I have been feeling the urge to escape and do the entirety of it from St. Jean to Finesterre. Since I only started in Burgos I had a few questions:

-How safe is it for a young female to walk the camino alone?
-How much money did you budget for the whole camino?
-What is the closest/easiest France airport to St. Jean?

Thanks!

Hi and welcome to the forum @happyhippie13

Very safe, yes, there are occasional reports of flashers/exhibitionists, but that are, so far, isolated incidents. Compared with the crime rate of many home towns/countries of pilgrim, the Camino is indeed very safe.

As you have already done the Camino, you should have an idea of what you typically spend, I would say that you can do a (very) frugal Camino for 20-25 Euros/day, staying always in the most affordable albergues and only self-catering.

Have a look at skyscanner.net ;-)

I finished last month and I saw many young ladies walking alone, I'm from Canada and I felt safer on the Camino than I do at home. I spent an average of 30 Euro's a day. Probably the most inexpensive vacation I have ever taken.

Hi and welcome, I think 25 to 30 euros a day is reasonable . I got to St Jean by flying into Toulouse, then a train to Bayone and then another one to St Jean. While speaking from a male prospective, I found the Camino very safe but if you want, I'm sure you would have no problems finding kindred spirits to share your walk.

Not sure if I'm alone on this, but on the CF last year I thought that the number of women walking on their own far out weighed the guys.
