Get a spanish phone number with Airalo. eSim, so no physical SIM card. Easy to use app to add more funds if needed.
We walked this route last week and I'm afraid I can only tell you to be prepared for anything!

It seemed to us that the weather forecasts were constantly changing. We found that we could only trust a forecast if we looked at it when we woke up and even then only so far as lunchtime. We also came to the conclusion that ANY forecast should be followed with the words ".....but it may rain".

I asked a couple of locals if they listen to weather forecasts and they seemed to be amused by my question. "Never" they said, "We look out of the window". We became familiar with the Galician dress code of wearing a waterproof jacket and carrying an umbrella.

It hardly rained during our Camino but it was always a possibility.
Most days we walked in shorts plus t-shirt and warm top for early starts. But I almost always carried a poncho and hands-free umbrella in my backpack.

Thank you so much for your reply!

The 9th edition the Lightfoot Guide will let you complete the journey your way.
Thanks for the information on the weather forecasts, MaxHelado.
Anyway, I guess the conditions in october will be a bit different. And anyway, why pay so much attention to the forecasts. You can't change anything so just live it. With or without umbrella...
I have done the Camino Frances and some caminos in France (Via Podiensis and Piemont Pyrenees, both great) in all kinds of weather.
Now I'm going to do the Camino Portugues from Porto to Santiago and if time allows, to Finisterre.
Starting in Porto on the 14th or 15th of October, and going the central route and probably taking the bus to Matosinhos. Maybe the first part will be coastal, that seems nice enough. I'm sure there will be several places to sleep. I prefer a bunk bed in the pilgrim hostals. Some of them are really great!
Hope to meet any of you in the Camino!

The route out of Vigo last October. The first pic is Vigo itself. The second is Arcade. Sun all the way but cool. Dark mornings so late starts.

New user here. Hello to you all. New to the forum but not to the Camino. I was told about this Forum whilst I walking the lovely scenic 'Camino Norte'. I'm planning walking another in June.
