Time of past OR future Camino
French Route 2014
Portuguese Route 2019
Beginning our planning for Camino Portuguese May of 2019.
Any advice would be appreciated.
My husband and I walked the French Way in 2014 from SJPDP to Santiago.
We do understand the joys and obstacles of The Way.
We walk about 20K a day, how long would it take us approximately from Lisbon and or Porto?
I know I can research, but I rather ask those who have walked the route.
Buen Dia

Hi Rae, welcome to the forum! Lisbon to Santiago is about 600 kms. 20 kms per day = 30 days. Add 3 or 4 days for rest days. It took me 30 days including rest days in Tomar and Porto. Happy planning! Jill

Bom Caminho! Sitting in beautiful Porto after completing the Coastal Route. Porto is far too wonderful a place for a rest day many sites many churches especially Santa Clara by the cathedral and San Francisco down closer to the river. Porto has much to offer is all hills so streets are all straight up or down and lots of cobblestones. Not the place for a rest!

My wife and I walked Lisbon to Santiago in 32 days
Rest days in Porto and Barcelos-to visit the famous world heritage church Bom Jesus do Monte in Braga-20 kms from Barcelos by train or bus. A must.
From Barcelos 19 kms northwards is the most famous privat albergue of the entire caminho Português, Casa Fernanda in Vitorino de Piães. Don't forget to plan to stay there. 2019 !
