Camino del Norte 2019
I last walked the Camino in 2019 Del Norte. I will walk from Lisbon but am concerned about the weather, accommodations and covid on route. Have there been any issues?

€2,-/day will present your project to thousands of visitors each day. All interested in the Camino de Santiago.
When are you going? COVID hasn’t been an issue.
I disagree. I caught Covid in May on the Camino Portuguese, as did several other people that I knew and met along the way.

I do think that there was a spike at the time because many pilgrims had also been in Fátima for the anniversary with 100s of thousands of people.

I am arriving in Lisbon this weekend and plan to start walking on Monday 29 Aug 22.

Hi Caminocarol 13
Yes, if you have time it would be great to hear about your journey, distances, accommodation etc as we plan to start frm Lisbon next May. Bon Caminho, Linda

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.

The WHO dashboard indicates there have been over 19,000 new confirmed cases in Portugal in the last seven days. I think caution is still required, including being prepared to wear a mask and maintain social distancing, practice good hand hygiene, etc.

I stayed in several albergues this year on the CP, and many were more crowded than I expected, with less 'thinning out' than I had anticipated. Others were nearly empty, but these appeared to be places where one couldn't book ahead. Where I did look for private rooms, I was always able to find something, but at a price premium.
