Hi Everyone,

Thanks for the approval to the Group!

We are two Hungarians doing the Camino, and we would need some information. We haven't decided yet where to start the route, in Granje de Moreruela or Montamarta or Tábara.

  • Can anyone please give advice on how to get from Zamora to Granje de Moreruela? We would like to travel on 10th April (Sunday). We were searching the Internet for buses, but haven't found any.

  • Also, can anyone please tell me whether there is a walking route from Montamarta to Tábara?

Thanks,
Tomi

Hi, Tomi,

Welcome to the forum.

IF you have the time, the absolutely easiest place to start is in Zamora. Take the Via de la Plata from Zamora to Granja de Moreruela, and then turn left to leave the Vdlp and start the Sanabres. Many, if not most, pilgrims leaving Zamora, will take the Sanabres as well. Zamora is a gorgeous city with a lot of good "ambiente"/feeling, tons of Romanesque churches, a restored castle, cathedral with lovely museum, etc, etc. And a great albergue!

I think you should look at a schematic map of the Vdlp/Sanabres, try Gronze: http://www.gronze.com/via-plata

Montamarta - Granja de Moreruela - Tabara is the Camino Sanabres!

Buen camino, Laurie
