Hi, has anyone read about or travelled along the path during autumn?
What is the weather like?
Thank you.
If you are reading this and travelling this year, particularly at this time, feel free to respond too.

I walked part of the Camino, from St Jean PdP, from Sept 21 to Oct 7. Temperature was excellent ( 15C in the morning and night and above 25C in mid-days). Lots of sun, hardly any rain (2 days moderate).
If 2006 is anything like 2005 I will complete the Camino again in the fall.
By the way I never had any problems finding lodging in albergues along my way. Met 4 fantastic Australians women, we sometimes walked together, but always met either at the night stop. Imiss their smiles and their courage.

We started from St. Jean PdP on October 3. Down there it was lovely mild and sunny. Very different up on the pass, shivering cold and windy.
Then came several warm and dry days with bright sunshine. Around mid-October around Burgos it was pouring with rain, and cold. Further on just a few days later, at O Cebreiro and in Galicia -we read here- there was much rain, leftover winds from 'Wilma', and early snow.

Meaning: In autumn you really have to come prepared for everything, from scorching sun to icy rain, plus drastic changes may be fast, and there are also local phenomena depending on altitude and locality.

On the other hand, to walk through the Pyrenees in autumn, with all the foliage in autumn colours is really wonderful, and as Ulysse rightly said, there should be no problem with accomodation anywhere at that time of the year.

Dunno if this is any help towards a decision.
