Camino Zoos and Wildlife

Anyone have any experiences with zoos, nature parks, etc.. along the camino. Any places that have the best opportunities for viewing wildlife?

St James' Way - Self-guided 4-7 day Walking Packages, Reading to Southampton, 110 kms
The most favourable time to see and experience "wildlife" is just before dawn. They are commonly to be found in communal sleeping areas. There is a species which stirs very early in the morning and rearranges all of their belongings noisily. The "wildlife" are to be found in close proximity to them and can be very forcible in expressing their displeasure.

keep your eyes open and you will very easily see eagles, hawks, kestrels, vultures, deer, snakes, wild trout, bed bugs... as you walk

Would love to see it all..except for the snakes..do not like snakes! Poor things..they’ve done nothing to earn my dislike.. Oh and bedbugs! Can do without seeing those little buggers!

I did not see any zoos but did see lots of animals along the way. Slugs: 20130817_153611.jpg Sheep: 20130823_115220.jpg Cujo, the dog: 20130823_115927.jpg Horses: 20130907_113005.jpg Ducks: 20130825_094121.jpg Squirrels: 20130825_103944.jpg Donkeys: 20130903_083847.jpg Snails: 20130908_075513.jpg Snakes: 20130914_122724.jpg Wasps/Hornets (Didn't disturb to find out) : 20130914_140421.jpg Continued. . .

Goats: 20130915_102224.jpg Cows: 20130916_183812.jpg Mickey, the mouse : 20130903_075150.jpg And the worst animal I saw was this debit card eating monster :( : 20130904_081155.jpg . My point is (sorry about all the pics), you will not have to look for a "zoo", the entire Camino is one big wildlife adventure, all you have to do is look :)

Buen Camino!!

€2,-/day will present your project to thousands of visitors each day. All interested in the Camino de Santiago.
Just outside of Logrono, on the Camino is a wonderful bird sanctuary. I spent 30 minutes there watching the storks and other water birds glide in for landings. The storks looked like parachuters with their dangly legs. In the long stretch of highish altitude woods on the way to Ages I heard cuckoos. Along the wheat fields listen (and see) corn buntings. Other birds along the path include tits and finches. If you like birds, get an app for your phone that includes birds of Spain.
