It would help if you tell us where you intend to start on the Camino Frances. If you are planning to walk from Saint Jean Pied de Port then you would have to average about 40km per day. If you are accustomed to walking very long days that may not sound excessive but the cumulative effect day-after-day can be punishing on the body. Stress fractures are a serious risk. You should also be prepared to be challenged by others who view your plans as being out of keeping with the spirit of a pilgrimage. I usually average about 30km per day on a longer journey and have quite often been told that I cannot do so and be a real pilgrim....

Technical backpack for day trips with backpack cover and internal compartment for the hydration bladder. Ideal daypack for excursions where we need a medium capacity backpack. The back with Air Flow System creates large air channels that will keep our back as cool as possible.

Ps will be starting from St Jean

Hi Jacko

Clearly given your earlier walks the distance wont be a problem, but the risk you run is not only as suggested stress fractures but equally missing the best part of the Camino ,simply taking your time to smell the flowers and appreciating what a wonderful thing it is and how lucky we are if we can indulge ourselves, by simply putting one foot in front of the other and simply being in the moment.
Good luck and Buen camino

It depends on your goals. My husband and I walked our first Camino in 24 days from St Jean and although it was easy for us we came back the next year to walk more typical stages because we felt we missed part of the Camino experience. A big mistake 😱 because now we come back every year and twice a year the last three years. I walk my 10th and 11th this year. If you are walking the Camino for a challenge and an athletic event that is your choice. But walking the Camino is a life changing event so why hurry it.

If you are doing it as a walk or a challenge, I congratulate your ability. Go ahead, it is your camino. If you are doing it as a pilgrimage or even a historical tour, you will miss much that the camino has to offer. Again, it is your camino, do it as you want.
