Hello there...
Would anyone know if I can buy a guidebook (English) in Burgos? Brierley or similar? I'm starting the camino in Burgos on Monday 30/9/13 by myself, but hoping to walk with others :)
Thank you
Sarah

Hi Saskie

You don´t need to buy a guide book in Burgos. You can download it right here. All it takes is a donation. Check the" Camino de SantiagoResources" page , you find it there.

Once when I was in Leon lost my guide book and wanted to buy a new guide book in English. It was impossible, there was no guide books in English on sale in the book stores and not even El Corte Ingles.
So the situation might be same in Burgos.
You can buy one in Pamplona www.caminoteca.com
Or Sarria www.peregrinoteca.com
and in Santiago.

3rd Edition. More content, training & pack guides avoid common mistakes, bed bugs etc
I would like to try a physical book, rather than PDF pages or looking at a file on my phone. Or just the opportunity to look at the Brierley guide. I didn't want one before I left, but now if I can get one I may? I'm not sure. I just wanted to know if it was an option.
Thanks for your reply annie

saskie,

For a guidebook try the small bookstore in the reception area of the Burgos Cathedral on the Plaza de Santa María. This is the same place where you purchase an entrance ticket to the extensive cathedral museum and obtain a stamp for your credential. Reception is open 9:30 to 19:30 until October 31; 10:00 to 19:00 from November until March. Tel.947 204 712. Nearby is the municipal albergue at Calle Fernán González, 28

Buen Camino,
