A friend of mine here in British Columbia, an emergency room physician who also has been working on the vaccination initiative, sent me this information. It may be helpful for BC residents who plan to travel this fall:

IMMUNIZATION RECORDS
How to access or update your vaccination status
B.C. Public Health has an immunization record for all people who received a COVID-19 vaccine at a B.C. immunization clinic or pharmacy. To find out what your vaccination status is in a hurry, visit
COVID-19 Vaccination Status Indicator | Immunize BC. Enter your date of birth and personal health number (PHN) to confirm your immunization record.
Note: The COVID-19 Vaccination Status Indicator only confirms the provincial immunization registry contains an immunization record. No specific vaccination details are provided.
VACCINATION RECORDS
When you
get vaccinated, you will receive a paper copy of your immunization record card, please retain it as proof of vaccination. Please note, this record is not sufficient proof for travel.
If you need another copy of your immunization record, you can access it online or request a printed copy by phone or at a Service BC office.
Fastest option: Access online
To view your immunization record online, register for
Health Gateway. Your digital immunization record card is available about two days after your vaccine appointment. You will need a
mobile BC services card to register.
Request by phone
If can't access Health Gateway, you can call to request a mailed copy of your immunization record. On the phone, be prepared to provide:
- Personal Health Number (PHN)
- Full name
- Date of birth
- Details about dose 1 and dose 2, like date or clinic location visited
Call: 1-833-838-2323 | Seven days a week, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. (PDT), translators are available.
Request at a Service BC office
You can get a printed copy of your immunization record at all Service BC offices. Office hours vary by location. Check before you go.
Find a Service BC office close to me.
Submit/update my COVID-19 immunization record
If you received a COVID-19 vaccine outside of B.C., you can submit your immunization records online at
https://immunizationrecord.gov.bc.ca/. You must upload an image of an official vaccination record confirming the details of your previous dose or doses. Your immunization record will be entered into the Provincial Immunization Registry. This usually takes about seven days. Once entered in the Provincial Immunization Registry you can access your immunization record online through Health Gateway.
