I'm searching for the thread/link about sending an extra bag (for after the walk) from SJPdP to Santiago with Ivar's servce. I can't find it. We arrive in SJPdP tomorrow (Monday) and start on Tuesday.

Thanks for your help!

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

€46,-
There is a lot on here about it.

  1. Ivar's 'Service' is purely storage in SdC. You need to get it delivered/posted there.
  2. Posting from France involves an 'International' element and added complexity.
  3. Some get a bag transported daily and post from Pamplona.
  4. Another alterantive is to use the Express Bourricot service, that will delivery your bag from your accomodation in SJPdP to SDC. (I have used this and it works very well). They are a few metres downhill from the Pilgrim office. Lovely people.
  5. I have also posted boxes along the way to Ivar, and that works well
The information about Ivar's Luggage storage is well hidden. Not sure why.
I found this though......... (from Ivar)

You can find the sending instructions here:

You have to go to the pilgrim office 39 rue de la citadelle. We have all informations about it

Arrived in sjpp, no bookings, knowing nothing but a few shops down from pilgrims office saw place to send bag on to Santiago. Sent it to hotel la salle. They kept it till I arrived. Discount on the room. Walking distance to cathedral. From memory I think
They have dorm type accommodation as well as hotel style. Think it cost about 50€ To send and store.

Hola @slrivers Back in May 2017 I used an international service which think was Express Bourricot. I think the fee was a bit over the top - E70. They use a albergue / Pvt Hotel in Santiago as the storage base. They have an office in St Jean. In Santiago if you wish to stay at their associated establishment you get a 10-20% discount off the room rate. I don't have the details to hand but I think the Pilgrim Office in St Jean should be able to help. Cheers

Thanks everyone! With your help this was so so easy! I used express bourricot. As it turns out their place is located just a half block from the Gite d’etape Azkorria, where we are staying, and just a few doors from the Camino pilgrims office . The cost was 70 euros (cash only).

We start walking tomorrow with a forecast of rain most of the day ....... maybe it will delay until later in the day
