Hi gurus.

I'm in the last stages of planning my Camino and I have a question that I hope some of you might be able to answer:

I'm landing in Bilbao in 3rd September at 14.30 (only carry on luggage) and then I want to take the bus from Bilbao to Oviedo that same afternoon. I can see that there are buses leaving Bilbao at 16.30 and at 18.30. I would like to catch the 16.30 bus so that I will arrive in Oviedo before dark. Is that doable? 2 hours from landing in Bilbao to get into the city center and catch the bus to Oviedo?

For your info I want to start my Camino in Astorga the next day and therefore I would like to get as far as possible on the third. From Oviedo I can catch a bus to Astoga (2 - 2½ hours) and then start walking straight away.

Thank you in advance for any hints and/or tips that you might be able to give me :D

Hi, karinotzen,

I think it's doable: http://www.virtualtourist.com/travel/Eu ... -BR-1.html

But if you want to spend the evening in Bilbao:
- there's a bus from Bilbao to Astorga (10:45 - 17:15) for 32,56€ each day,
- and train on the same route (09:15 - 15:00) for min./max. 13,30/33,30€ each day.

Ultreia!

I rode the bus from Bilbao airport to the Bilbao main bus terminal in July, cost- 1.40 euro, took less than 20 min.

Hi karinotzen,

You should have no problem with the timing, if your flight is on time. When you exit the airport, look to the right to find the bus stop for the bus to the bus station. It's located all the way to the right, when you're standing with your back to the airport doors. You pay on the bus, so no need to worry about finding a ticket agent.

There is an information counter at the Bilbao bus station, and they will confirm which window to go to to buy your ticket to Oviedo.

Enjoy!
