Cathedral Restoration?

Hi all,

I have seen recent pictures of the Cathedral and have noticed that half of the Obradoiro facade is covered in scaffolding! I read online that there is restoration going on and no one can enter through this entrance, which is rather discouraging to find out since my Camino will be next summer.

Does anyone know when the restoration will be completed?

I have no specific information, but confidently predict that you will be able to enter the cathedral next summer, and that restoration and conservation work will always be taking place.

Although it is not obvious from the square, if you take the cathedral rooftop tour you can see that the tower furtherest away from the Parador has a distinct lean relative to the other tower. A good reason to carry out some repairs and maintenance!
