SJPP to Santiago (2016)
Hi All
Hoping to walk the Camino next year (from SJPP). Would like to record the whole walk with my Garmin (FR10) watches (their battery life is short, so will need two), but I'll need to recharge them every night. I'm guessing that the cheapest Albergues won't have a power point (electricity) next to the bed! Anyone able to give a rough idea of price per night for accommodation with power? Sorry if this question has been asked before :)

Cheers!

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.

In my experience pretty much any Albergue will have open power outlets, regardless of the price for the night's stay. Sometimes the outlets are near your bed, sometimes they are across the room. There are many strategies described in various threads on this forum about how to safely recharge your devices. I particularly subscribe to using a single plug to charge multiple devices at the same time by having either a dual port USB charger or a simple single to multi-outlet adapter so that you can share any available plug with other pilgrims. Common sense is always required when leaving your devices unattended, but I have never had an issue with theft, disconnection, or otherwise.

Welcome to the forum!

I've walked CF before and last year two less walked caminos (Madrid & Levante) and even in most remote and unusual places there were power points. I was using Endomondo app for my GPS track and while walking I put my Andriod (HTC) into airplane mode to save battery. No problem whatsoever. On CF you won't have any problems with that, especially not in the albergues (it doesn't depend on price or ownership), furthermore you can recharge your mobile/watch/GPS while drinking "cafe con leche" in bars along the way. Don't worry, Spain isn't thrid world country ;)

Ultreia!
