Hi, as I will be traveling to the Ditch Pig Camino Clean Up I need to stay overnight in Biarritz 26/27th November. So far AirBnB has been unsuccessful ;-( Anybody has any tips for a cheap place to stay in Biarritz? I rather would spend the money on bringing some treats for @Rebekah Scott 's dog and cats (and all the ditch pigs) than spending lots of $$$$$ on a hotel. I am off to Couchsurfing now to try that ...

No, just because I will be arriving at 19:00 after 21h of traveling in an overland bus. But that hotel looks like a real find! Thanks, I am sure I can find my way to there! BC SY

Le Petit Hotel, Biarritz. Near the beach and good food nearby. A few on here have stayed including myself.

There websites states a rate starting at Euro 65 without breakfast ...

A couple of thoughts...
1. Did you try Anglet on AirBnB? It's next door to Biarritz and had several places when I checked a while ago.
2. I'm sure the last thing you want to do is get on another bus, but... Bus 816 leaves near the Biarritz train station (Blvd M. Dassault & Av JFK) at 20:16. You'd arrive in Hendaye around an hour later for 2€ (or you can take the 30 min. train for 5€) There's a gite in Hendaye that's open year round (Association Temps Libre 05 59 20 07 07). The next a.m., you can walk across the bridge into the town of Irun and catch the train to Sahagun at 9:15 for 31€. (Unfortunately, the Donativo in Irun closes at the end of Sept. or I'd recommend staying there)

Hi SY!

Hope you're well!

Just regarding a place to stay in Bayonne. There's a woman there who takes in pilgrims, her name is Catharina. I stayed with her when I walked the Camino del Baztan last year. She lives not far from the railway station. I won't post her personal contact details here but here's her profile on Couchsurfing: https://www.couchsurfing.com/people/strandpauline

I stayed at the Hotel Mirano. It is not cheap but it is a reasonable price. It is a small hotel in a residential area near the Biarritz airport. It cost me 13 euros to get there by taxi from the airport.
The hotel is about 15 minutes away from the beach and restaurants.....if you do not get lost in the maze of streets.a small breakfast served in the morning. The coffee was excellent.
When it was time to leave, the number 8 bus to Bayonne was a short 5 minutes away and cost a couple of euros. From there, I took the train to St. Jean Pied de Porte.
ps. This was my review of the hotel

This lady swapped emails with me today. Really helpful. I think she could be a decent link for you. She has a little flat in Bayonne near he station I believe and you just make a donation I think) if I miss the last train in March 2017 we wil, try to debunk there overnight.
Hope that helps

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
Thanks, but I have already a confirmation from Catharina, SY
