Cheaper ferries

Time of past OR future Camino
2015 Cycled from Clonmacnoise in Ireland, France, Camino Frances, Camino Finisterre.
Some other pergrino might find this info useful:

I'm planning to cycle the Camino from home this year. Ireland, west France, camino Frances, camino del northe to Santander, ferry to Plymouth, home via Bristol, Cardiff, Fishguard and Rosslare.

I've discovered that it's cheaper to buy ferry tickets through a cheap ferries website rather than direct from the companies. Return tickets are also cheaper than individual single tickets.
Bought individually Cork - Rosslare and Santander - Plymouth cost €266, as a return package it costs €218.

Also, even if you are in the sterling area, it's cheaper to buy from a euro area website. They have not caught up with the exchange rate changes yet!

Very light, comfortable and compressible poncho. Specially designed for protection against water for any activity.

Our Atmospheric H30 poncho offers lightness and waterproofness. Easily compressible and made with our Waterproof fabric, its heat-sealed interior seams guarantee its waterproofness. Includes carrying bag.

€60,-
Thanks for the tip re ferries and using the euro area fo websites. If booking through booking.com etc for accomodation then use the € pricing there too.
Another good tip, which is true for Brittany Ferries, is to decide where you would like to be for 3 nights and book your ferry trip and those 3 nights. This makes a 'package holiday' ABTA covered and cheaper than booking the ferry and paying 3 nights in B&B. We have done this before and will have our 3 nights in Santiago this time. Total cost for 2 people with an upgraded cabin, and staying at the Rosa Rosae, is approx ÂŁ450GB. We know this locks in our date of arrival in Santiago, last time we booked our first 3 nights at Santillana del Mar so we could visit Altamira and then start our pilgrimage.
