Christmas in Spain, slightly off topic

Having done several Caminos, this Christmas/New Year my wife and are planning to stay in a small Pueblo blanco called Comares, which is a mountain village 1 hours drive North East of Malaga. The main attraction is the mountain and hill walking which looks amazing. Anyway, my question is we arrive on Christmas Eve, return 3rd January, and will need to buy food on our arrival for the next few days and might cook Christmas dinner ourselves or might eat out. Do Spanish shops/restaurants close down around this time for the holiday?

Many thanks,

Andrew.

In my experience spanish restaurants seldom close for fiestas, it is when they make their money!

Shopping is more problematic, it depends what time you arrive in Malaga. I assume you will be hiring a car so you may do best to shop before you get to the village, there is a big shopping complex at Rincon de Victoria, if shops are open Christmas Eve this is probably your best bet.
The Spanish have there main Christmas meal on Christmas Eve night, Christmas Day is fairly low key. New Years Eve is big, you will find shops open normally on the 26th so you only have to decide what you want to do for Christmas dinner
